Avowed lets you embrace the role of a musketeer with its powerful Arquebus weapons. These guns pack a serious punch, perfect for players who love picking off enemies from a distance. While their slow reload times stay true to the classic musket design, their massive damage makes them a great choice for sharpshooters.

If you’re looking for the best Arquebuses in Avowed, we’ve got you covered. We’ll break down all the Unique weapons in this category and where to find them. So far, we’ve discovered four (technically three) Unique Arquebuses in the game. If we find more, we’ll be sure to add them here.

Understanding Arquebus Damage

The stats listed in this guide reflect Legendary +3 levels, meaning this is the highest base damage these Unique Arquebuses can achieve. Each one maxes out at 431 damage, but Heavenstrike stands out with its extra Stun damage.

All Unique Arquebuses in Avowed and Where to Find Them

One Last Trick (Found in Emerald Stairs)

One Last Trick is the first Unique Arquebus you’ll likely find in Avowed. You can earn it as a reward in the Steel Resolve quest.

  • If you spare the culprit and report to the Rangers, you’ll get One Last Trick +1 (Fine quality).
  • If you kill the culprit, you’ll get the standard version.

Stats:

  • 431 Damage
  • 364 Stun
  • 3% Critical Hit Chance
  • Unique Passive: Gunnery (+20% Reload Speed)

Unique Enchantments:

  • Ricochet: Bullets bounce to hit an extra enemy. Can be upgraded to:
    • Trick Shot: Bullets bounce to two additional enemies.
    • Incendiary Charge: Bullets deal low Fire Accumulation and bounce to one extra enemy.

Izmalt's Meteoric Apparatus (Found in Shatterscarp)

You can buy Izmalt’s Meteoric Apparatus from Kampeki, the blacksmith in Thirdborn (Shatterscarp). It’s displayed in a case, but you must purchase it for 10,109 Gold—there’s no option to steal it.

Stats:

  • 431 Damage
  • 364 Stun
  • 3% Critical Hit Chance
  • Unique Passive: Concussive Grudge (Short-range Power Attacks deal High Stun and knock enemies back)

Unique Enchantments:

  • Meteoric Burst: Killing an enemy applies low Fire Accumulation to nearby foes. Can be upgraded to:
    • Meteoric Devastation: Applies moderate Fire Accumulation.
    • Lingering Inferno: Creates an AoE effect that deals high Fire Accumulation.

Moonstrike (Found in Galawain's Tusks)

Moonstrike is crafted by Forgemaster Dela in Solace Keep as part of the Forged of Star-Stuff quest. You’ll need a Starmetal Fragment to get this weapon. While it may seem like you must choose between Moonstrike or Meteor Blade, you can actually obtain both by finding additional Starmetal Fragments.

Stats:

  • 431 Damage
  • 364 Stun
  • 3% Critical Hit Chance
  • Unique Passive: Freezing Lash (Hits deal +10% Frost Damage)

Unique Enchantments:

  • Ondra’s Scorn: Power Attacks apply moderate Frost Accumulation to nearby enemies. Can be upgraded to:
    • Ondra’s Anger: Applies high Frost Accumulation.
    • Lunar Champion: Killing an enemy grants +5% Damage Reduction for 10 seconds.

💡 Tip: Don’t waste crafting materials upgrading Moonstrike. Instead, upgrade it directly into Heavenstrike first.

Heavenstrike (Found in Galawain’s Tusks)

Heavenstrike is an improved version of Moonstrike, featuring slightly higher Stun damage and a darker design. You’ll need two Starmetal Fragments—one for Moonstrike, and a second to upgrade it to Heavenstrike.

Stats:

  • 431 Damage
  • 400 Stun
  • 3% Critical Hit Chance

It shares the same Enchantments as Moonstrike, making it the better version.

Which Unique Arquebus is the Best?

Each Unique Arquebus in Avowed is powerful, and none are objectively bad. Since they all share the same damage ceiling, it comes down to personal preference.

That said, One Last Trick has the biggest edge in DPS. Since there aren’t many ways to increase reload speed in Avowed, its Gunnery passive (+20% Reload Speed) is a game-changer. Combine that with Incendiary Charge, and you’ll have a weapon that keeps your damage output steady while applying fire effects to weaken bosses.

Final Thoughts

If you want the fastest-firing Arquebus, go with One Last Trick. If you love fire-based explosions, Izmalt’s Meteoric Apparatus is your best bet.
